In collaboration with the Rotary Centre for the Arts and UBC – Okanagan, Kelowna Taiwanese Cultural Society is hosting an academic panel discussion- New Directions: Settler – Indigenous Collaboration for Cultural (Re)Vitalisation on occasion of Kelowna Culture Days – 2019.
Multiculturalism is the DNA of Canada; Culture Days is not only a time to celebrate arts and culture, but also a time to review our cultural work in our community. This year, we would like to talk about the Indigenous Cultural (Re)Vitalisation in Kelowna, and we invited the indigenous research experts from Taiwan that has similar colonialism history with Canada to share their experience with us.
There will be Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, the team members from Indigenous Historical Justice and Transitional Justice Committee of Taiwan, the representative of City Kelowna, the professor of UBCO and also the local indigenous artist to attend our discussion. Everyone who is interested in this topic is very welcome to join us.
